Using Oracle Cards for motivation and positivity.

I have always had a bit of a fascination with card readings and other spiritual things. But it’s only been in the last year during lockdown that I have actually started looking further into these things.

Tarot reading and tarot cards is a bit more complex and I’m still in the early stages of learning about that side of things but, I have now become a regular user of oracle cards.

What’s the difference?

With Tarot cards there is more of a set structure, people use tarot for more in-depth readings about their future or guidance. Oracle cards don’t necessarily have a set structure and you can use these a bit more freely for special guidance. I have a few different oracle decks to choose from. Some are ones that come free with magazines like Soul & Spirit (I highly recommend this magazine if you’re into spiritual stuff by the way!). Others are ones I brought specifically because of who was behind the creation.

My personal favourite ❤

The two decks I use the most are: Believe in your own magic by Amanda Lovelace – one of my favourite writers, and Keepers of The Light by Kyle Gray.

But why are oracle cards such a good thing for positivity?

I usually do an oracle card shuffle in the morning. Before I go about my day. I use this as a time for reflection and motivation. I tend to shuffle the cards and then lay a few out and pick one to reflect how I will take on the day.

When I have picked the card I will take a moment to look at what it says and read the guide that goes into further detail about what the card means or is saying to me.

(From Amanda Lovelaces oracle deck)

It’s not as simple as just grab a random card though. You really have to be in the zone with oracle cards too. In order for you to pick up the right one for you.

I find it’s important to sit calmly and do some breath-work for a few minutes as I’m shuffling my cards and let my mind help draw me to one specific card. I am not just saying this, but every time I’ve done an oracle card in the morning it has always seemed to be spot-on for whatever is on my mind or what I’m facing.

You don’t have to be religious to do oracle readings for yourself, and it honestly is a great motivator. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves that little push to get motivated or positive and oracle cards can do just that!

Why don’t you give it a try and manifest some good vibes?

Before I finish this post. I am going to show you the reading I got for this morning. End this on a high 🙂 so here is my oracle for today from My favourite deck (you can get this from Amazon if you like this one)

This was a perfect example reading for today’s post. Something that has been on my mind for a while now and so relevant that I pulled this card today.

Obviously don’t just buy any deck because it’s pretty looking (most of the decks you’ll find are pretty stunning). Find one that feels right for you. There are so many oracle decks out there, just do a search on Amazon alone and hundreds will come up. But it’s about finding the one that you feel stands out to you the most, one that you feel drawn to. It’s all about having that positive manifestation and I honestly have to say that having these oracle cards to hand has really helped encourage my mindset on days where I don’t feel so great.

Oracle cards are a beautiful addition to anyone’s room and can influence many good vibrations and motivation 🙂 so why don’t you give them a try?

I am also looking into things like Moon Magic etc so look out for posts in the future on that.

  1. I never tried reading cards, but this sounds like a great starting point, I thought tarot cards and oracles one was the same actually. Sounds like a great motivation to start the day on the best foot! Thank you for sharing x

  2. How beautiful. I have a tarot deck, but I haven’t used it in a long time. Oracle cards sound like an interesting way to reflect on your thoughts and emotional state.

  3. Right up my alley 🥰,
This is a lovely post. I strongly believe even if folks don’t use tarot or oracle for divination purposes, it’s also a useful secular reflective tool. There’s so many beautiful oracle decks out there it’s dizzying.
My favorite is the dreaming in color lyman deck. Its been at my side for several years now.

    Thanks for sharing!
