My Favourite Feel-Good Films

I am a huge fan of things like Star Wars, Gory horrors and stupid cheesy slasher films. But, like everyone else, I also do love a good soppy feel-good film!

Today’s post is a list of some of my favourite feel-good films, old and new. So enjoy!

(Please note that images are from sites like Google, Amazon and Disney Plus and are not owned by me)

FREE GUY

Omg. This film. It’s everything. I didn’t know what to expect with this but it is such a funny, crazy and also stupidly romantic story. All about a character in a video game… who then realised his a video game character and tries to change it all, it’s just a great story from beginning to end for both the virtual world in the film and the real one. And without spoiling anything particularly I have to say that the last ten minutes reveals one of the most romantic things I have seen in years. It actually made me teary. The film is definitely worth a watch, it’s funny, original and just, well c’mon Ryan Reynolds is hilarious!

Cool Runnings.

An oldie, but an absolute classic. If you have no seen this film then get out from under a rock and do it. One of the most quotable funny feel-good films ever. I guarantee the film will put a smile on your face.

10 Things I Hate About You

Again, old but classic, please tell me you have not been living under a rock with this one too! Why this film? Because from beginning to end it is hilarious. The late Heath Ledger was perfectly cast in this rom-com.

Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion

This film is ridiculous. Like, I can’t even begin to go into how completely silly this film is. But, it will make you giggle and the ending will make you feel good. It’s a must for anyone who’s ever worried about bumping into the high school bullies later in life.

Sweet Home Alabama

My absolute FAVE! I have watched this film like… at least 50 times. Some times I’ve even watched it three consecutive nights in a row. It’s your typical cute love story, it has a lot about going back to your past and there’s no place like home. This film for me personally, always cheers me up and brings a grin across my face. Every single time. and not to mention the great quotes.

“You can’t ride two horses with one ass, sugar bean”

And the romantic part:

“Why would you wanna marry me for anyhow?”

“So I can kiss you any time I want!”

About Time

One of the most beautiful films you will ever see. For those who haven’t heard of this or don’t know it, it’s the story of a man who finds out that the males in his family have the ability to travel back in time and change life events. Of course, this doesn’t come without consequences. The film is a tear jerker, a heart breaker but most importantly a very big smile will form on your face throughout.

Keeping Mum.

I don’t know the true popularity of this film or if it is an underrated classic but this film is hilarious. This film is all about a woman who basically… kills people. If she doesn’t get her way or doesn’t like somebody, she’ll murder them. I realise my description doesn’t make this sound like a proper feel-good film but honestly, it’s British comedy at its best. If you don’t end up laughing throughout a lot of this film then I will be very surprised.

Definitely, Maybe

Another classic Ryan Reynolds flick. This film is the cute story of a father and his daughter. Ryan’s character is going through a divorce, but his daughter is the best thing to come out of that failed marriage. One night when his daughter stays the night, she gets him to tell her the story of three women he dated, and she needs to try and guess which one is her mum! The story is extremely cute and has some very fun twists and turns to the story. But it is one that will put a nice big smile on your face.

Man Up

This film is one of my favourite British romcoms. Simon Pegg is hilarious as always in this. This film is all about a woman who never quite has the balls to get out there and meet someone. One day, she accidentally gets mistaken for the blind date at the train station, in a spare of the moment mental moment, she decides to go along with it and pretend to be the blind date. It all has very funny consequences and lots of fun one-liners and silly additional characters. This film always makes me giggle.

So, there you have my go-to feel-good films. Have you seen all of these and agree on them? What films make you feel good?
